Set 30 km north-east from Prague is a small town called Milovice. From 1968 up until the Velvet revolution this town and nearby military airfield served as a Red Army base. Not far away from here, hidden in the forests, lies remnants of soviet command bunker for Czechoslovakia occupation forces.

Last soviet soldier left the place in 1991 and since then nobody lived in the housing estate adjacement to the decomissioned airfield. Since then only the nature and adventurers found their way into the premises of the base. Even though the airfield is now used for private flying, the rest of the base remains abandoned. Welcome to the Zone.

In july 2008 I went there with a friend to have a look around and to take some pictures.
